Business Innovation Group MIC leverages its knowledge of market needs, information technologies and innovative business services to add value to clients. Industry Focus: Logistics Investment Group The MIC Investment Group applies disciplined financial skills to identify and nurture profitable investment opportunities in North America. The Group's management team leverages deep roots in the U.S. market and privileged access to our worldwide network to add considerable value to the investment portfolio. MIC Invest Group's strategic orientation allows it to quickly spot emerging trends that will shape Mitsubishi Corporation's global enterprise. The Investment Group pursues both strategic and financial investments, ranging from minority investment in promising companies and funds to majority buy-out in a variety of industries. MIC's skill-set has expanded to embrace both our traditional expertise in supplying large-scale plant machinery, as well as a package of services including feasibility studies, engineering, procurement and construction, and relevant financing. Metals Group As a global trader of metals and minerals, MIC draws on its worldwide sourcing capabilities to supply precious metals and aluminum ingots, and copper concentrates to customers based mainly in North America. MIC also operates a secondary aluminum smelter and an aluminum wheel plant in the United States through its affiliated companies. On the brokerage side, subsidiary Triland USA Inc. is a clearing member of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), the International Commodity Exchange (ICE) and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). MIC's steel-related investment activities are two-fold: administration of several subsidiaries in the U.S. which process and trade steel products, and the development of new business opportunities in the North American market, in cooperation with Metal One Holdings America, Inc., a joint venture of parent Mitsubishi Corporation and Sojitz Corporation of Japan.
